From Luxembourg, percussionist Damien joined Orchid-Star in September '11, along with Julia immediately after finishing a Masters in Ethnomusicology at Goldsmiths College, 5 years study at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, Kingston University, Trinity College London and the Tech Music Schools Acton.
A jazz drummer and percussionist by heart his curiosity has led him to explore many other genres such as classical music, world music and pop music. He has had the opportunity to learn from and play with some of his biggest idols such as Ed Thigpen, Jeff Hamilton, Alex Acuna and Steve Smith.

He has performed with the Luxemburgish Military Band as a soloist as well as performances in the Royal Albert Hall and Royal Festival Hall in London. Having worked mainly as a jazz drummer reflected in concerts at the Cork International Jazz Festival his keen interest for new musical ideas has led him to explore Brazilian, Bulgarian and Carnatic percussion, clearly reflected in his playing with Orchid Star.
