The Band

Pierre Luigi

Pierre brings the rocky, soulful, funky edge to Orchid-Star. Pete and Pierre first met when they were 21 and soon started working on little experimental projects and then over the years brought each other in to work on their own projects, including 3 years from 1990 together in Vers La Flamme.
Prior to that his band Tongue (gothic rock with a big hint of Led Zeppelin, still Pierre's favourite band) had been the most requested band on campus radio in the US in 86-7. Pierre missed touring the states with them when his daughter Charlotte (a.k.a. Rogue on Orchid-Star's 'Passion' single) was born

Pierre Luigi

After Vers La Flamme split up Pierre went on to work on music for TV including the hit snow-boarding series Board Stupid.
Session work as a guitarist includes working with Simon Posford on Hallucinogen's 'Antiseptic'. He was musical director and formed a band for burlesque-style singer Kim Loan - Youth-produced project which also included Karl Walinets form Pete's old band Glow, and worked with Andy Throup of Secret Life (and Vers La Flamme). Although they had hardly seen each other and had not worked together for over 10 years Pierre was Pete's instant choice for guitarist but to his surprise also offered to play bass, something he had never done live before.
