The Band

Becky Dell

Becky studied at Trinity College of Music, specializing in marimba but also studying djembe with master drummer Salah Dawson Miller who performed with Pete at the Royal Albert Hall in '94.
She performed with Stomp before the strain of carrying around dustbins and hitting them became too much for both her ears and back!
Pete met her through DJing at Planet Angel, where she worked, and where Orchid-Star also did their first gig. Pete asked if she would like to come and guest as a drummer to which she replied she had a full-size orchestral marimba under the bed which she'd love to get out. As Pete's music already had loads or marimba parts that was a no-brainer.

Becky Dell

Becky had joined by the third gig and shaped the direction of the first tracks written specifically for Orchid-Star with the immortal words, "write me something hard, Pete", which resulted in Dans La, and esecially the marimba fireworks of A Better Ride.
As well as marimba, djembe, glockenspiel and assorted hand percussion Becky also sings live and on the new album
Since moving away from London Becky has had to put playing with Orchid-Star on hold but expects to be back.
